Youth council passes confidence vote in Bello

Forum of 36 states chairmen of the National Youth Council of Nigeria has passed confidence vote on Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello.

They urged other governors to emulate Governor Bello over the appointment of youths in government.

The forum stated this at the weekend through a communique after their meeting in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital. The communique was signed by the Delta State Chairman Comrade Okorie Kenneth who also heads the communique drafting committee.

Others who signed the communique included Ondo State chairman Ogunmolawa Matthew, Kano State chairman Auwalu Inusa Mohammed and his Nasarawa State counterpart Comrade Idris Ojoko.

The group commended Governor Yahaya Bello for appointing all 21 local youth council coordinators as secretaries to their respective councils and supervisory councillors.

“We also, commend Governor Bello for the provision of 22 buses for the running of youth council in the local government areas of Kogi State and one official vehicle for the state chairman.

“The Forum also appreciates Governor Bello for appointing competent young persons across 36 states of the federation as his aides.

“The forum enjoined other governors, ministers, and heads of government agencies, boards and parastatals as well as non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to emulate Governor Bello’s exemplary leadership towards the youth of their diverse states.”

They noted that Bello’s leadership style of youth inclusiveness is integral part of society and it remains one of the prerequisites to addressing insecurity in the country.
