The first private university in Ibadan, Lead City University (LCU), has received accreditation for undergraduate degrees in Medicine, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Surveying and Geo-informatics, Tourism and Hospitality Management, among others.
The Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Kabiru Adeyemo, disclosed this during its 14th convocation.
A total of 1,302 students graduated in various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the university.
“The Academic Planning Unit has reviewed the curriculum for all existing programmes in line with the National Universities Commission Basic Minimum Academic Standard (BMAS). In pursuit of the expansion of the number of academic programmes, the university has gotten approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to run new postgraduate and undergraduate academic programmes with effect from the 2021/2022 academic session,” he said.
Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Gabriel Ogunmola, urged the graduates to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to rebuild the country.
“Like other nations of the world, our nation Nigeria is going through challenging times. We are releasing you to our national and the world at a most challenging time. I implore you and your generations to see opportunities in many of these challenges and join hands with other stakeholders of this nation to rebuild it,” he said.
