Thirteen suspects have been arrested for allegedly vandalising and burning the campaign office of Senator Barau Jibrin (Kano North).
A statement by police spokesman Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa said the culprits were arrested with “exhibits” that included 34 dangerous weapons, 23 clubs (Gora), two gallons of petrol, one parcel and 30 pieces of Indian hemp and 24 sachets of Diazapam tablets.
Also, four pieces of Red Sun Solution, one mobile phone, two ceiling fans and a bunch of charms were recovered, police said.

“A report was received that thugs carrying dangerous weapons were sighted attacking and vandalising the office of Sen. Barau Jibrin, Senator representing Kano North Senatorial District, along Maiduguri Road Kano.
“Upon receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko instructed teams of Operation Puff Adder to move to the scene, restore normalcy and arrest the culprits.
“Investigation has commenced and suspects will be charged to court for prosecution,” Kiyawa said.
