A cleric, Senior Special Apostle Bisi Adedire, has urged Nigerians, especially politicians, to be righteous in anything they do, to have a better Nigeria.
He spoke at the weekend while delivering a lecture with the theme: The Reward of the Righteous, to celebrate the Seventh Annual Remembrance in honour of Special Apostle Prophet Gabriel Olubunmi Fakeye, at Imesi-Ile, Osun State. Oba Enoch Ademola Akinyemi, Owa Oye of Imesi-Ile, was the royal father of the day.
He said labour preceded reward, noting that it was a common saying that ‘without work no pay’, which could also mean ‘without labour no reward’.
Adedire stressed that nobody, including God, would reward a man or woman for doing nothing. He said Nigerians must be determined to do what was right before God and be rewarded.
“If people want to be righteous, they must be ready to pay the sacrifice and be ready to count the cost.”
Adedire, eulogising the late Fakeye, quoted the Holy Bible as saying that the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.
“Baba Fakeye died seven years ago, yet we are still remembering him today. This will be done for as many years as possible. Of a truth, he was a righteous man filled with righteous deeds which were evident to all. His good character, competence and consistency were never in doubt.
“He gave so much in his push for the unification of the different arms of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church. I can clearly say that Cherubim and Seraphim Church is what it is today by the grace of God and the labour of some of these leaders of ours. Baba Fakeye was one of them.”
