An aspirant for the Lagos State House of Assembly in Alimosho State Constituency 1, Abiodun Mafe, has chided those spreading fake news about his educational background.
Mafe, who spoke yesterday after he was cleared by the screening committee, described those behind the fake news as “detractors, who are afraid of my achievements over the years.”
According to him, the allegation was a big lie from the pit of hell.
“Their intensions were to discredit a credible aspirant like me. They are shivering with my enviable pedigree and track record of achievements. The evil-minded politicians are behind the wild lies. I am qualified to vie for elective positions having contest for council chairmanship position thrice and House of Representatives twice. I was screened and participated in party primaries in the previous elections,” he said.
A two-term former Chairman of Mosan-Okunola Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Alimosho, Mafe said his records are available for people to verify.
Mafe added: “Ordinarily, I wouldn’t have dignified them with a response but I need to set the record straight for unsuspecting people in Alimosho, who may have been deceived by their lies.
“I anchor my aspiration on my previous scorecard as council chairman of Mosan-Okunola LCDA where we recorded unprecedented achievements as testified by two former governors (Lagos and Osun states). Those governors are now serving ministers. When my detractors couldn’t match us with any tangible record for campaign, they resorted to cheap blackmail and name-calling. We’ll not go into the mud with them.”
He urged party leaders and members to ensure credible people with track record of delivering dividends of democracy get the party tickets.
This, Mafe said, would made electoral victory easy at the general election.
