Alhaji Mohammed Barde Jubril won with 160 votes to beat Dr. Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna who scored 119 votes.
Air Vice Marshall Shehu Adamu Fura scored 18 votes, Dr. Abubakar Ali Gombe, 17 votes and Dr. Gimba Yau Kumo 13 votes.
There were 329 delegates from the 11 local government areas.
Jubril urged his opponents to join forces with him for victory.
