ELEGUSHI royal family of Ikate land in Lagos State has petitioned the Army over alleged threat to life and encroachment of its land by a Brigadier General.

In a petition signed by its lawyer, Adepeju Omotayo of Bandele Omotayo & co, it called on the Army to stop the use its personnel from the Army Signal, Apapa, to unleash mayhem on its members.

The petitioners are Chief Elegushi Ifasegun, Opemolua of Ikate Land, Elegushi Property Investment and Chief John Ogunyemi, Baale of Itedo.

They alleged in a petition to the chief of Army Staff that they were attacked “irrespective of the fact that there is a judgment in their favour by Lagos State High Court”.

The petitioners said the general with some men, attacked Ogunyemi at his office on Admiralty Way, Lekki, on July 16.

Omotayo said all suits instituted over ownership of the land were in favour of Elegushi Family, wondering why the Army should be dragged into civil matters.

The lawyer added: “Our clients were terrorised, oppressed, assaulted, humiliated, harassed, intimidated, their rights abused by soldiers…

“Sir, the succour, our clients have, is your power to intervene and investigate this matter…
