The Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Shettima (AABOS) Support Group has said the capacity of the Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, to develop the country is not in doubt.
Director General of the group, Alh Abdulsalami Iyaji, in a briefing on Saturday, said the two prominent Nigerians have executive, legislative and relevant experiences needed to galvanize Nigeria into a peaceful, sustainable and developed nation.
Iyaji, a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, lauded President Muhammadu Buhari, the APC leadership and progresive governors of the northern states for their roles that led to the emergence Tinubu and Shettima.
He said the purpose of the group was to synergize with other organizations ready to support the APC in the 2023 presidential election.
“The objective is to ensure victory for our leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate. We are putting our structures on the ground. As I am talking to you, we have structures in more than 15 states and are still counting. Our aim is to extend to all the states of the federation and with networking arrangements with all other local governments in the undertaking to ensure we pass the message, objectives and reasons we have to support our candidate. And by God’s grace, we have fortunately capable leaders that have been selected for APC.

“Asiwaju Tinubu and his running mate are names known to every Nigerian. Their abilities and capacities are not in doubt. These two prominnent Nigerians have traversed both executive, legislative and relevant experiences needed to galvanize Nigeria into a peaceful, sustainable and developed nation.
“Look at Lagos. The modern Lagos that we see is associated with Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In fact Lagos is a mini Nigeria. Lagos is the most developed in terms of structure, economy, and facilities. Recently one of the former governors of Lagos state, stated that the template they are using to put developmental structures in Lagos was developed by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu when he was governor of Lagos.
“It is not in doubt. You don’t look at Lagos only from the perspective of economic or social development. Look at the very knotty issue of security in Nigeria now. Ordinarily, you would expect that Lagos should lead in terms of criminals and criminalities, but I can tell you in terms of crime, Lagos is one of the least. Why? When Tibnubu was governor, he put in a template, police trust fund. And what did they do? They put in a lot of funds and equipment and synergized all other security outfits in Lagos to ensure that security issues and crime fighting are handled in accordance with international standards.
“This is a model for other states to copy. The person behind all this should be given the opportunity to replicate it in other parts of the country. We believe in Asiwaju Tinubu. We should support all like minds to ensure Tinubu is elected as president in 2023. Very soon the campaigns will start. The purpose of this support group is to enable campaign outfits in whatever form we can to ensure that people have reasonable information as to our candidates. That people are made to understand the qualities inherent in our candidates so that we should not lose this one time opportunity. We support this objective because all of us here believe in the sincerity of the leaders that the APC as a body has selected for us.”
