‘No oba-elect for Ibeju-Lekki’

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on climate change

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu has been urged to ignore some information making the rounds that the Oyemade, Oniwolu Royal Family of Ibeju Lekki, has presented an oba-elect for a confirmation.

The Secretary of Olumoye in Oniwolu Royal Family, Prince Ibrahim Olawale, in a letter to the governor, said it is the turn of Olumoye in Oniwolu Royal Family in Ibeju Lekki to present candidate for the position.

He urged the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs to as a matter of urgency investigate the matter.

Prince Ibrahim Olawale wondered why a faction of the royal family who had presented kings for several times would claimed to have submitted an oba-elect for the vacant stool without considering other families.

He said the case is pending at the Lagos High Court to address the injustice because it is the turn of Olumoye in Oniwolu Royal Family to present next Onibeju of Ibeji Lekki.
