Ex-Eaglets Ayinde revives career in Spain

Desirous to take his game to greater heights, former Golden Eaglets striker Kehinde Abdulrasheed Ayinde has teamed  up with Spanish 3rddivision side CD Madridejos after stint with Lithuanian outfit FK Ekranas .

The lithe striker who was a sensation in the formative stage of  coach Emmanuel Amuneke -led national U-17 World Cup-winning team of 2015, said the  desire to step up his game necessitated quitting Lithuania for Spain, adding Madridejos has offered him the platform to harness his potential.

The former ABS youngster  was a hit with Ekranas as he scored some 20 goals to help the side secured promotion to  the Lithuanian Lyga 1 before both parties parted ways on mutual consent as he failed to get a deserved incremental wages.

Ayinde who had a short stint with CD Pedroneras on arriving Spain  early this year before being snapped up  by  CD Madridejos, said he was ready to justify the confidence of his new employers.

“ I’m happy to be here at this time with Madridejos because it’s an opportunity to show what I can do and I’m hopeful bigger things will come soon,” he said.“ Leaving Lithuania for Spain would on the long run boost my career.”

Ayinde has  tried  to get his  career back on track in Spain after being out for five months. His move  to Madridejos was brokered  by UK-based Top Talents Sports Management.

The 24-year-old striker who has been  handed the number  9 jersey at Madridejos made his debut after he  came on  as a second half substitute in a 2-2 home draw against CD Villza at their Campo de Futbalo Nuevo home ground.
