Abducted police officer rescued

The Kwara State police command yesterday announced the rescue of the abducted Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Ahmed Yusuf.

Mr. Yusuf was reportedly abducted kidnapped by six armed men in his Oloje, Ilorin house on Tuesday last week.

It was gathered that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Monitoring Team attached to the state command, Oyo State Amotekun as well as local hunters carried out the rescue operation.

Police spokesman Ajayi Okasanmi said ASP Yusuf was rescued  in the wee hours of yesterday in a bush bordering Kwara and Oyo states.

Okasanmi also said the state police Commissioner Paul Odama said “rescuing the kidnapped officer  unhurt…is a task that must be achieved”.
