Olympic Eagles striker Promise David has assured Nigerians that the national Under-23 side will complete the job of edging out Tanzania in Ibadan on Saturday in the second leg of the CAF U23 AFCON Qualifiers.
Success Makanjuola scored the opening goal for Nigeria in the first leg in Dar-es-Salam in the 29th minute before the hosts rallied back in the second half to ensure the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
David who also played in the game, emphasised that the Olympic Eagles started the game on a good note and that it was the sustained pressure that fetched the spot kick they got that led to the opening goal.
He said they would approach the second leg with all seriousness with the resolve to win it for Nigerians who have stood by them.

“We started the game on a bright note in the first half and put pressure on them which resulted in the goal we scored,” David told the NFF Tv.”In the second half we tried to maintain the same tempo but their penalty kick decision. Well, it was the referee’s decision.
“We will go back home and prepare very well with the resolve to record a win that will take us to the next round.
“We are extremely confident that we will get the job done in Ibadan because we do not have any other choice. We want to win for Nigerians.”
