Lalong challenges Jos disco to provide adequate power

Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong has challenged the Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JEDCO) to ensure that power is extended to the central and southern districts.

The governor was speaking when the management of JEDCO visited him at the Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos.

Lalong, who appreciated the visit of the Managing Director, Bello Muhammed, said lack of power had been a challenge to industrial development of the state, particularly in agro processing.

He said the government had continued to work with the Federal Ministry of Power, TCN, and distribution companies to ensure all obstacles were removed in connecting all parts of the state to the national grid.

He assured the managing director of his support in  ensuring power was distributed adequately.

Muhammed said his visit was to intimate him on his assumption of office and seek his support.

He told the governor he had been briefed about the power challenges facing Government House, which he said would be addressed.

Muhammed promised to support the government in connecting more towns and villages to electricity to  boost economic activities.
