Ahead of the Peoples’ Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential campaign tour of Kebbi State, the state chapter said all necessary arrangements have been made to welcome the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to Kebbi.
Speaking about Atiku’s visit, PDP chairman, Alhaji Usman Bello Suru distanced the state chapter from the claim by former Minister of Special Duties Alhaji Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, (SAN) that General Ishaya Bamaiyi (retd) was recently appointed as the party’s presidential campaign director general in the state.

Suru made the clarification while speaking with reporters in Birnin Kebbi, the Kebbi State capital recently. He said the former minister had granted an interview where he disclosed that Bamaiyi has been appointed as the presidential campaign director-general for Kebbi State.
Suru said: “We wish to state categorically that Kabiru Turaki’s claim that General Ishaya Bamaiyi (retd) has been appointed as the director-general of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) in Kebbi State is not true.”
