Ekiti State House of Assembly yesterday confirmed the appointment of two commissioner-designates forwarded to it by Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
The nominees: Mr. Akintunde Oyebode and Dr. Oyebanji Filani, were scrutinised and cleared by the house at a plenary presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Hakeem Jamiu.
Oyebanji had in a letter addressed to the speaker, requested the house to screen and consequently confirm the nominees as commissioners.
The assembly unanimously through a voice vote confirmed Oyebode and Filani as commissioners having found them to be competent for the assignment.

Oyebode and Filani had served as commissioners for Finance and Health in the last two years of the Dr. Kayode Fayemi-led administration.
The two commissioner-designates, who were screened by the house, promised to improve on their past performances in the overall interest of the state.
The assembly also cleared and confirmed Mr. Olatona Olaniran Rufus as chairman of Ekiti State Board of Internal Revenue Service (EKIRS).
