President of Private Education Developers’ Association of Nigeria (PEDAN), Festus Awodoyin, has said the group will elevate private education to world-class level.
He spoke during the Annual General Meeting and Fourth Anniversary of the association in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
He said PEDAN repositioned itself as a service provider in capacity building, school inspection, collaboration with government, among others, to achieve excellence.
Awodoyin hailed the achievement of private schools in Information Technology.

He praised the joint programmes introduced by PEDAN in schools, saying the idea ensured uniformity in all aspects of private education.
Guest Speaker, Mrs. Esther George, a director of Training in Lagos State Education Safety Commission, said safety should be considered a culture to be practised everyday.
She said the government “regards safety in schools as a serious issue” and we should cooperate to make our children learn in safe environments.
The director called for provision of safety facilities in schools and advised that schools have locations conducive to teaching and learning.
