Former Lagos State Commissioner for Housing Bosun Jeje has congratulated Nigerians for electing Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as president and Lagosians for re-electing Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain said Nigeria is fortunate for having Tinubu as the next leader to take the baton from President Muhammadu Buhari.

He also said Sanwo-Olu earned a second term because of his achievements across sectors, adding that he will sustain the tempo of performance in his second term.

Jeje, who spoke on phone, said Nigeria will bring to bear on national governance his vast experience as a democrat, pro-democracy crusader, financial surgeon and former governor of the most vibrant state in the country.

Hailing Nigerians for giving their mandate to the president-elect, he said:”It is a new dawn in national history.  Nigerians made the best decision by electing the best man for the job. Nigerians voted for competence, experience and capability. They voted for a man of ideas and pedigree. They voted for a brighter future for Nigeria.”

Jeje reflected on the electioneering, recalling that Tinubu had the best blueprint and solutions to the myriad of challenges confronting the country.

In his view, God was also on the side of Tinubu, stressing that only few can triumph under such difficult situations and in the face of mounting obstacles.

He said other presidential candidates also knew they were no match for the president-elect, in terms of antecedents, experience, skill, competence and vision for a greater tomorrow.

The former commissioner said the wisdom that permitted Tinubu to excel as governor of Lagos has not deserted him, assuring that he will do better as president.

Jeje urged Nigerians to support the president who has been magnanimous in victory by waving the olive branch to his opponents and detractors.

He said:”The election is over and Tinubu needs the support of all and sundry as he prepares for the arduous tasks of governance.”

Lauding Lagosians for giving Sanwo-Olu a second term mandate, the former commissioner said Lagosians made the right choice.

He said the re-election of Sanwo-Olu attested to the desire for continuity of progress across sectors under the humble, dynamic and hardworking governor.

Jeje said:”Sanwo-Olu has an unfinished business in Lagos. He has converted Lagos into a construction site. His achievements in the housing sector are laudable. He has implemented his ‘THEMES’ agenda faithfully. He will build on these feats in his second term.”

The former commissioner, who thanked Lagosians for their support for the ruling party, also enjoined them to double their support for the governor in his bid to deliver more dividends of democracy to Lagosians.

Jeje also congratulated the members of House of Assembly-elect, urging them to forge a partnership of progress with the executive in the interest of the state.

He congratulated the APC Campaign Director-General, Senator Ganiyu Solomon, pary chairman Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, members of the State Executive Committee, Governance Advisory Council (GAC) members, women and youth groups, and party supporters for doing the ruling party, government and state proud during the electioneering.
