Hey, cool temper! Why act as if you hold Nigeria’s destiny?

Bola Tinubu

By Bayo Osiyemi

Iwo ko lo da mi,
Iwo ko lo da mi,
O si nsoro bi
Eledumare,
Iwo ko lo da mi.
It is a Yoruba song rendered by the originator of fuji music, Dr Sikiru Ayinde Barrister and these translate to mean: You did not create me; why behave like my Creator?”
These lyrics readily come to mind in this pre and post elections season when professed seers and assumed righteous, in and out of the pulpit, pontificate and swear by whatever they believe in, that Bola Tinubu will not win the recent presidential election and, after he was certificated as a winner, May 29 inauguration will not be.
I laughed, and I am still laughing, because these people referred to above, arrogated to themselves the vision not truly deciphered in either their inner eyes or the outer ones or their medicated extra eyes otherwise known as eye glasses.
In trying to act God, they warn of Armageddon if things don’t go the way of their wishful thinking. So consumed are they in their self importance that statesmen among them have diminished to “Baale Jontolo” or rookie politicians who could barely put together a successful councillorship electioneering campaign strategy, while the dog-collared among them have shrunken to become a “Jesu Oyingbo” of goneby years or, of recent, Shehu Abduljabaru of Ketu market area, all in Lagos.
GOD, the Almighty Father, is not mocked: He allowed them to wallow in their delusion before proving convincingly that there is no one like Him. I’m sure all the permutators before and after the elections pushed their luck real hard to believe that if genuine business risk takers like late Ayoku Gbengbeleku and Kessington Adebutu and now, humble, humane Kunle Soname of Ikosi-Ketu and Ikenne, could break through into the multi-billionaire class by a combination of luck and hard-headed dare-devilry, they too could scrape by. But again, they have forgotten the well-researched composition of fuji songster, Ayinde Barrister, on luck and destiny.
“Ibi olori gbe yan’ri o,
  nba lo yan temi,
  Ibi elomin gbe yan’ri
  o,
 nba lo yan temi:
“Ibi kan sha la gbe yan’ri
  o,
  Kaadaara o papo ni,
  Ese lo ma n saare
  o,
  Ori o re bi kan.”

Love or loathe him, Bola Tinubu is living true to his pet name, Akanbi, (special one) and hence, he’s specially made for exploits.
The man many thought his ice had no ghost of a chance in hell, literally went through the furnace of affliction of all vice sides, and came out refined as gold: or what can be as priceless as winning the Presidency of one’s nation, which he predicted himself.
Instead of the doomsday prophets of all hues to sit back and explore into the invincibility of God, and hail Him as the only “I am that I am”, they are still punch-drunk to continue to wallow in the illusion that May 29 will not be.
In case they need someone to remind them that God is Alive as ever, here’s telling it, with cast-iron certainty, that May 29 will be, and they and we, will celebrate May 30 and thereafter, that “lehin Jesu ko se ni kankan o, Oba Nla l’Oba ta wa nsin”. Besides God, there’s no one else like Him.
All that is required of us all is to join hands with his administration to turn things around and make Nigeria the pride of all and to the glory of human race.
