The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC ) in Bauchi State, Alhaji Muhammad Nura, has described the general elections in the state as free, fair and credible.
Nura stated this at the Post-Election Review Meeting yesterday in Bauchi.
“We conducted elections across 5,423 polling units and results collated at the 212 registration areas in the state. Winners were returned across senatorial districts, state and federal constituencies.
“The elections were not without shortcomings and this suggests why we are here to review the outcome of the elections and recommend ways to improve on future processes,” Nura Said.
He urged the participants at the meeting to freely share their views, adding that it would assist the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in planning future elections.
The REC, however, commended security agencies, the media, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), and other stakeholders who supported the commission during the elections.
