First Lady seeks stiffer penalties for  kidnappers

Oluremi Tinubu

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has renewed her call for stiffer penalties for kidnapping. She likened the menace to a war in the country.

Mrs. Tinubu spoke while hosting three senators representing Lagos State at the State House, Abuja yesterday.

The senators are: Adetokunbo Abiru (Lagos East); Wasiu Eshinlokun Sanni (Lagos Central) and Dr. Idiat Adebule (Lagos West).

In a statement by her spokesperson, Busola Kukoyi, the First Lady Tinubu urged the lawmakers to enact security-related laws to stem rising crime.

Kukoyi quoted Senator Tinubu as saying: “We should look into the laws we would bring up. On the issue of kidnapping, it is like we are in a war, a war against kidnapping and kidnappers.”
