Construction industry workers get safety training

Lagos State Safety Commission has organised a training for artisans and workers in construction/built industry to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.

Director-General, Lanre Mojola, spoke yesterday at the training in Alausa, Ikeja.

Mojola, represented by Director of Public Safety and Well-being, Ajoke Oshokoya, said construction drives economic growth, adding the sector was one of the most risk-prone sectors in the world.

He said: “Nigerian workers have become more endangered and prone to accidents; some have died, while some have been incapacitated. Construction is one of the most risk-prone sectors, hence the training,’’ Mojola said.
