Lagos State stood still between October 1, 2024 and October 3, 2024 when the extraordinary celebration of African beauty, ‘Beauty in the Motherland’ returned for its second edition.
The Eko Convention Centre had more than 100 renowned brands predominantly owned by Africans and international brands with proven interest in Africa/emerging markets converging for exhibition and conferences.
The landmark event, three days, redefined the beauty landscape, bringing together over 5,000 attendees and 100 top-tier beauty brands from across Africa and the globe.
Ms. Beatrice Eneh, co-founder of Beauty in the Motherland, articulated the event’s mission saying, “Beauty in the Motherland was created to give us a home for our desires and passion to express ourselves in the best way we can, which is unique to us as Africans.”

In her view, there is a need to showcase African beauty in its full spectrum, breaking free from traditional confines and stereotypes.
The event promised and delivered a dynamic lineup of panels, master classes, and networking opportunities with industry experts, influencers, and beauty enthusiasts.
Highlights from the event include the glamorous beauty party and award ceremony, celebrating the trailblazers and innovators within the beauty industry.
The Honourable Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture in Lagos, Mrs. Adetoke Benson, expressed her support for the initiative.
“This is a very big thing that I’m part of. I consider myself as part of the industry and I know women like to look good and feel good.” Benson remarked.
