No fewer than eight persons were killed when gunmen invaded Chicim community of Mangu local government Council of Plateau state .
Sources said three persons who sustained injuries are receiving treatment .
Local sources told The Nation the gunmen stormed the community, which is just a kilometer from Mangu town around 10 pm on Tuesday and started shooting sporadically.
Kespan Iliya, a resident of the community told newsmen that the members of the community were asleep when the gunmen arrived in a commando style and started shooting anything at sight.

Over 96 houses were razed in Gyenbwas, a community in Langai district of Mangu Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State on the same day..
The Plateau state Police Command spokesman, D.S.P. Alfred Alabo confirmed the incident in a statement.
