Lobi Stars of Makurdi are still searching for their first win of the season after Uche Martin’s penalty earned Wikki Tourist a 1-0 win over them.
A dull first half ended 0-0 with nothing really seperating the both teams as they contained each other for 45 minutes.
Ten minutes after the break, Lobi Stars came close to taking the lead but Abdulrahman Bashir making his debut for the Makurdi side headed wide from a pin point Josiah Maduabuchi cross.
About 15 minutes from the end of the game, the home side were awarded a penalty, following an incident of ball handling in the box.
Lobi Stars protested the decision, but Uche Martins converted smartly after the protest died down, to give his side the lead in the game.
Try as they could Lobi Stars were restricted to long range efforts and half chances,as Wikki, although not at their best, hung on to pick up all points to continue their brilliant start to the season.
