Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi yesterday offered special prayers for God’s intervention in the economic and social challenges facing the country.

The governor played the role of a cleric when he hosted the Founder and General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William F. Kumuyi and his entourage at the Government House in Enugu.

Kumuyi told Ugwuanyi of the church’s leadership conference holding in the state.

The governor, in his supplication to God, asked for the wisdom, power and courage to continue to discharge his responsibilities effectively.

He said the conference was an opportunity to re-present to God the challenges facing the country under President Muhammadu Buhari and Enugu State under his leadership.

Urging members of the church to always remember Enugu State and the nation in prayers, Ugwuanyi, who reaffirmed his belief in the miracle of five loaves and two fish, expressed optimism that “miracles will begin to happen at the end of your stay here”.

The governor said God is the source of his position, adding that with prayers from the church and other residents, his administration would succeed.

He said: “God, our Father, all authority comes from You and You give leaders wisdom with which to govern Your people. You also strengthen them with power and courage. Lord, I ask for the wisdom, power and courage to be able to execute this office.

“All the challenges facing us, both as a state and as a nation, are known to You and we firmly believe that yYou will see us through, for You are our stronghold; without You, we can do nothing.”

Kumuyi thanked the governor for hosting his delegation, despite his tight schedule.

The cleric told the governor that he and his entourage were in Enugu for a pastoral visit, which would enable the church transmit God’s messages to Africa and other parts of the world.Enugu (2)
