SIR: I suggest that legislation be passed to stop workers in federal government parastatals, Ministries Departments and Agencies, and political office holders from sending their kids to school abroad until after their first degrees in Nigeria. Of the over $2b spent on foreign education annually, at least 40% of this amount is spent on federal government workers kids and at least 40% of these federal government workers source of funds might have emanated from corrupt means.
The federal government should not put a total ban on foreign education by denying parents access to forex, because 30% of those that school abroad remain there and send forex to their folks in Nigeria when they start working and if they decide to relocate back to Nigeria, they bring extra knowledge to better our economy.
