Enyeama condemns Lille pitch invaders

Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama has whole-heartedly condemned some angry fans who invaded the pitch following Lille’s 1-1 draw against Montpellier at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium.

The former Ligue 1 champions have suffered a terrible deep in form this season and are currently placed second from bottom on the log with just 28points and fans showed their frustrations by trying to attack the home players who were protected by security and stewards off the pitch.

The 35-year-old tweeted: “How did we get here. The last time losc had fans on the pitch was for celebration. The real fan/supporter will always stay behind the team no matter what. Good or bad times. tousensemble#onestlelosc#ilfautpasoublie.”

The French League promised to investigate the incidents and yesterday released a statement which read: “The LFP firmly condemns the incidents that occurred last night the Pierre Mauroy stadium after the Lille v Montpellier game.

“As soon as Thursday, the disciplinary commission will look into these incidents.”

Enyeama has been frozen out of the Lille first team this season and hasn’t featured for the team since he returned from injury.
