Abducted medical doctor regains freedom in Delta

The abducted medical doctor of Delta State University Teaching Hospital (DELSUTH), Oghara, Jerry Isogun, has regained freedom from the hands of his kidnappers.

The Nation learnt that the medical practitioner was released about 8pm on Thursday.

An undisclosed sum of money was said to have been paid to the hoodlums to secure his release.

Sources at the hospital confirmed the development Friday morning.

According to them, the abductors reportedly dumped him in a bush near Eku in Ethiope East council area of the state.

It was further learnt that the medical doctor is receiving treatment for injuries sustained during the ordeal at DELSUTH.

The Delta state Commissioner of Police, Mr Adeyinka Adeleke, also confirmed the development when contacted on Friday.

Confirming the release, the state commissioner of police, Adeleke, said “Yes, he (Isogun) has been released. He was released last night.”

Isogun who is president of the Resident Doctors of DELSUTH was reportedly kidnapped late Wednesday on his way home from work.
