Abiodun, SSG to attend poultry show

OGUN State Governor Dapo Abiodun and Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Olatokunbo Talabi are some of the dignitaries that will attend the 2019 Poultry Show.

The annual event, organised by the Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN), Southwest chapter, will take place at the Providence Events Centre, MKO Abiola Way, Federal Secretariat, Kuto, Abeokuta, Ogun State between November 5 and 7. It will start from 10am daily.

A statement signed by the President of PAN, Southwest branch, Dr. Olalekan  Odunsi,  said the theme of the show is: “Nigeria Poultry Industry: Managing the Value chain for National Development.

He said the show would feature, exhibition, products launch, seminars, groups & individual business discussions and as well bring together farmers to discuss and harness the opportunity given by the Federal Government through the border closure.

“The show is an opportunity for us to bring together farmers across the region to discuss the benefit of the border closure and how to harness it and be able to meet up with the protein needs of Nigeria.

Nigeria’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) will also increase through export of our products.  There will be different seminars where people will be educated on the latest technology in our daily production activities. A lot of manufacturers of these products will be available to interact with our farmers”.

Some other institutions and individuals expected at the event are commercial banks, Bank of Industry (BOI), Bank of Agric, representatives from the Agric department of Central Bank of Nigeria and Agric department permanent secretaries of states.
