AIG orders trial of suspected land grabbers

Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), Zone II Command Abdulmajid Ali yesterday directed the anti-kidnapping team to prosecute those arrested for “land grabbing” in Lagos on Saturday.

A statement by the zone’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mayiwa Adejobi a Superintendent of Police (SP), said the AIG, who was duly informed of “land grabbers” activities at Orudu, Oke Olokun Village, Ibeju Lekki Local Government Area of Lagos, sent a team from the unit to restore normalcy.

The team accosted some hoodlums belonging to two rival land “warriors” who were about attacking one another.

The team arrested Ibrahim Oduola, found with a bag on his neck. Two battle axes, two sharp knives, some charms, and other items were found inside the bag.

The suspect confessed that he went with members of his gang to Oke Olokun Village to repel attacks from the rival group.
