Ajimobi: We lost a role model, bridge builder-Rep. Olatubosun

A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Olajide Olatubosun, has said that the political class in the country has lost a role model and bridge builder with the death of Sen. Abiola Ajimobi.

The lawmaker representing Atisbo/Saki-east/Saki-west Federal Constituency expressed a deep sense of loss and unimaginable pain on the death of the former governor of Oyo state.

According to a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Saturday, Olatubosun described the deceased as a great leader, mentor, role model and father of modern Oyo State,

He said Nigeria and Oyo state have lost a consumate politician, a bridge builder and a transformational Leader.

He said “My first encounter with him was in 2006 in the build -up to the 2007 elections, when he visited every nooks and cranny of Oke – Ogun and other parts of Oyo – state soliciting for support.

“A progressive per excellence and a man of deep convictions, he never believed in impossibility as he pursued every set- goal with uncommon courage, tenacity of purpose, diligence and excellence.

“Senator Ajimobi will be fondly remembered for the indelible marks he left behind as he bestrode the political landscape of Nigeria like a collosus.
According to him, Ajimobi’s exit at this crucial time has left a huge vacuum in the political landscape of Oyo – State and Nigeria.

“His unparalleled stride as the Governor of our dear state resulted in massive infrastructure development, efficient security infrastructure that brought crime to near zero and construction of model colleges across the state just to mention a few.

“I commiserate with President Muhammadu Buhari, the Government and the people of Oyo state, members of our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief (Mrs) Florence Ajimobi, family members and political associates of our leader on this sad loss.
Our consolation is that our leader left an indelible mark in the sands of time.

“Surely, you have fought a good fight, you have run the race and have kept the faith”, he said.
