Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has assured investors of support despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

He said his administration will do all it takes to ensure private investments are safe.

The governor spoke when he received 1,000 sanitisers, 5,000 nose masks and 3,000 cartons of noodles from Olams Nigeria Ltd.

He said that the fight against COVID-19 would be won with support from individuals and investors.

Akeredolu assured the citizens that the items would be judiciously used and the palliatives would get to the poor and vulnerable.

Olams Nigeria Ltd Branch Manager Arun Karthick said the firm is supporting over 8,000 cocoa farmers.

He said that the firm donated the items to support the government as it battled to curb the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are impacting their lives on a day-to day basis. We are helping them improve yields of the cocoa crops. With that they will get improved income.

“We are making videos to educate them on ways to avoid COVID-19. We do radio jingles and through the community representatives we are reaching out to the farmers.

“COVID-19 is a pandemic and causing a lot of havoc. It is time for companies to pick up their corporate social responsibility. We are giving back to the people where we have been working for the past 25 years,” Karthick said.
