Labour Party (LP) candidate for the 2021 governorship election in Anambra State, Mr Obiora Agbasimelo has described his party as a shelter in the storm, being a party that is peaceful and ready to render good governance if elected.
In a chat with reporters in Awka, the state capital, Agbasimelo said the crises in other political parties will continue to linger as they remain disunited.
He argued that what the people need from the 2021 election are two important issues namely; a younger person like him who listens to the people and will be available for work and not a traveller that spends much time overseas and two, a crisis-free political party that will not lavish resources meant for providing dividends of democracy on litigations.

The banker-turned politician from Ezinifite in Nnewi South Local Government Area expressed the hope that the incoming dispensation in Anambra State is expected to usher in a focused administration that will hit the ground running in executing development projects from day one, maintaining that it will take a cool and peaceful party such as the Labour Party to guarantee an administration that can start work immediately after the inauguration.
“Anambra people have had enough of these crisis-ridden political parties. I believe that the election coming up in November is the appropriate time for us to show maturity and experience in choosing a better political party and a better candidate that can meet the yearning of our people in the cities, towns and villages across the state,” he added.
