There was confusion on Thursday evening across Oyo State and Nigeria over claims that former Oyo Governor Senator Abiola Ajimobi was dead.
Some online media had claimed that the ailing politician died in Lagos at about 8pm.
Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other stakeholders in the state were on telephone calls to confirm the news as they were gripped with anxiety.
His Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Bolaji Tunji, however, told The Nation his principal was alive and responding to treatment.

Ajimobi was appointed Acting National chairman of the party on Tuesday following the suspension of the substantive National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.
But the party later appointed Hilard Eta, National Vice chairman South South to act on his behalf till he returns to office.
