Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have congratulated Hajia Fareedah Dankaka and Mr. James Kolo on their nomination to serve at the Federal Character Commission (FCC) as chairperson and member.

“Our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes go to the two nominees. The nomination is a reward for loyalty to a good cause, a conviction to stick to the truth and long-standing commitments to the service of humanity, especially the good people of Kwara State,” the governor said in a statement by Chief Press Secretary Rafiu Ajakaye.

“We commend President Muhammadu Buhari for this honour. The government and people of Kwara State are very grateful for the recognition to have our daughter and son serve in the A-list parastatal.

We are confident that Hajia Fareedah and Mr. Kolo will make us proud in the course of this call to serve our fatherland,” the statement said.

APC Chairman in the state Bashir Bolarinwa described their appointment as a reward for doggedness, resilience and patience in party politics.

He said that since Hajiya Dankaka’s foray into the political space, her story had been replete with support for the womenfolk, financial commitment to party programmes and elections and building capacity for her constituents.

“She is a loyal party person, soft spoken, but very determined in her vision for the party and whatever she sets her mind to do.

Her organic rise through the leadership of the Kaduna Chamber of Commerce to become the president has no doubt prepared her for this national assignment.

I, therefore, have no doubt that she will discharge her new responsibility with commitment, hard work and success.

“Similarly, I also wish to congratulate Mr. Kolo and salute his commitment to our party. His appointment is equally well deserved.

“As in the appointment of two ministers from our state, l also consider these appointments as a double honour for our state and look forward to more of such.

“We, therefore, appeal to the Senate to grant their nominations approval.

“I heartily join their friends, families and our party members to congratulate them on these worthy appointments and pray Almighty God to guide and protect them in carrying out their responsibilities to the benefit of mankind and to the glory of God.”
