The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has donated 200 bags of 50kg rice to the over 3,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at the camp in Ohogua, Ovia Northeast Local Government Area of Edo State.

The gifts were yesterday presented to the victims of insurgency in the Northeast by Edo Secretary of the APC, Lawrence Okah, who was accompanied by other members of the State Working Committee (SWC) of the party.

Okah said “The National Chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, mandated us to come and present the 200 bags of 50kg rice to you (the IDPs). It is not the wish of the IDPs to be here (at the camp), but were here by providence.

While also speaking, the Edo Publicity Secretary of APC, Chris Azebamwen, stated that the governing party had always identified with the needs of the people, especially in times of challenges.

The coordinator of the IDP camp, in his remarks, hailed the leaders of APC, especially Oshiomhole, a former Governor of Edo state, for always remembering them.

He assured that the presented items would be judiciously utilised for the upkeep of the IDPs, as done with the previous materials.
