The Council of Arewa Chiefs has installed Alhaji Kabiru Garba as the Sarki Hausawa of Lagos.
The event was held at the Arewa House, Ebute Metta, Lagos.
This followed the death of his father.
Spokesperson for the family Ahmad Suleiman said the installation was a great joy to the family.
He said Garba would adhere to the tradition rules and maintain the status quo.
“Despite that he is very young, he is full of wisdom. We will help him improve so that he can carry out his mission. I assure Lagosians that they will see the best of him,” Suleiman said.
He advised the people to abide by COVID-19 protocol.
The representative of Emir of Borgu Kingdom, Niger State, Mr Mike Nwaede, commiserated with the family over the death of Kabiru Sanni.
According to him, the late Sarkin, during his life, was known to everybody as a man of honour, who worked for the betterment of the people.
“I have no doubt that after his departure; his first son that has been selected to take over his throne will continue the good work his father started. We pray that God will give him the ability, wisdom and knowledge to carry out the task ahead,” he said.
