Seyi Vibez imitates Asake, lacks niche – Singer Portable

Controversial singer Portable has claimed that his co-artiste, Seyi Vibez follows the footprint of Asake the ‘Amapiano crooner’.

The ‘Zaazuu’ front man while appearing on the latest episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, co-hosted by actor, Nedu also revealed what triggered the beef between him and Seyi Vibez.

According to Portable: “Seyi Vibez copies Asake; Mr Money.

“When I blew up, Seyi Vibez begged me to perform at his show. I didn’t receive a dime. I even spent N500,000. I was injured and robbed at his concert by hoodlums. They took all my jewelry. I didn’t ask Seyi to compensate me. It was my manager that I blamed for bringing me to the show.

“But when I was about to headline my own show at Fela African Shrine, I invited Seyi Vibez who just hit stardom then and he snubbed me. That is the genesis of the beef between me and Seyi Vibez.”

He said he would continue to “fight” Seyi Vibez with his “talent” as long as award organisers keep nominating Seyi as “Best Street Artist” ahead of him.

Portable also took a swipe at artists who use streaming farms to manipulate the positions of their songs on digital streaming platforms.

“I’m not a farmer, I’m a fisherman. There are farmer musicians and there are also fisherman musicians. Farmer musicians use streaming farms to boost their positions on charts. An artist who is number one today, after one week he would be charting at 174. That shows that streaming farms are real in our industry,” he said.

Well-known for her Warri intonation and mannerism, the actress admitted these married women were not totally wrong but argued their spouses did more of chasing the single girls, claiming she could attest to it.

She advised insecure wives to wear matching outfits with their husbands to the fitness centers if they were so bent on keeping them away from ‘preying: single girls who they continually accuse of attempting to seduce their men.

Commenting on the outfits being worn by single ladies which she noted married women contest, the comic star stressed these ladies had the right to put on whatever they deemed fit to the gym so long as they looked good and were comfortable in them.

Expressing herself in Pidgin, Warri girl stated: “E get something wey dey wan vex me. I dey quiet since for the thing. Because e no be like truth no dey for the thing but una just dey wan generalise am so e wan dey upset me.

“What’s this new thing of gym is now the new hookup center for girls? Leave married men alone  They go to the gym to look for married men.

“So, because person dey come gym now, make e no look good. Why did you wear this or that? E concern you? Na you buy the cloth? People wear what they want to wear, they look good in it. The things ladies now wear to the gym….

“See…..I don tell una finish, na una husbands dey chase the girls. E no get how woman chase man reach the man go still get the final say to do the do.

She added: “Oya wait, make we talk about the husbands wey una dey talk about. Some of una husbands wey carry belle like say dem swallow Geepee tank, before dem see man face; dem don see belle.

“If some of una husbands no get money normally, na wetin dey attract person be that? E no dey attract na.

“Una go dey do like say una husband na tourist center. Nothing dey there, make una allow girls rest small.
