“Should I Omoniyi, Olorunyomi Makun be gay or nurse any single idea of sleeping with a fellow man, may death take me before my time, may everything that God has blessed me with be taken away from me.

After a massive launch on Sunday, Big Brother addressed the 20 housemates.

Big Brother hinted at what to expect in the first season of the BBTitans saying the housemates should prepare for challenging moments and difficult decisions.

The 20 housemates – 10 Nigerians and 10 South Africans – were greeted by Biggie’s voice for the first time in the house shortly after the launch and live show ended.

Big Brother began his welcome speech – fittingly – by acknowledging the efforts the housemates had made to make it into the house.

“You have been hand-picked from a highly competitive pool of applicants, and Big Brother is honoured to have you here.

“This is a unique opportunity that will test your abilities, push you to your limits, and shape your lives in ways you never thought possible. But don’t worry, Big Brother has you covered!”

After the welcoming words, Biggie promptly told the 20 housemates what he had in store for the maiden edition of Big brother Titans with the theme, ‘Ziyakhala Wahala.’

“The next few weeks will be filled with challenging moments and difficult decisions, but – like ore getting refined to pure gold – this will be an incredibly rewarding experience.

“As you embark on this expedition, Big Brother wants you to remember that this challenge is not just about winning or losing. Instead, it’s about every single facet of the experience: the highs, the lows, and everything in between,” he said.

Continuing, Big Brother said, “You will be challenged to think critically and creatively; you will have to learn to work together as you live together. It’s about pushing yourself beyond every limit you may have thought you had.

“There will be times when the obstacles before you might make you question your ability to see this through. Housemates, in those moments, remember that you are titans, and nothing can stop you.”

Biggie added: “Big Brother hereby extends a warm welcome to all of you and wishes you the best of luck on this incredible journey. May the odds be in your favor, and may you emerge from this stronger than ever. Ziyakhala Wahala. Good evening, housemates and remember, Big Brother is always watching.”

  • Nwosu’s resignation vindicates G-5, says Wike

Nwosu’s resignation vindicates G-5, says Wike

Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike has said that the recent resignation of former Minister of Health and member of Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Prof. Alphonsus Nwosu from the party, has vindicated the demand of the G-5 for equity, fairness and justice.

The Governor warned that if the party remained adamant and failed to zone the national chairmanship position to the South, it shoul be willing to face a grave repercussion.

Wike spoke when stakeholders of Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area paid a solidarity visit to him at the Government House, Port Harcourt on Saturday.

The Governor said that he had continued to challenge the party on the equality of everybody insisting that nobody should be treated as a second class citizen.

He said: “I have continued to challenge them. What is the problem? What are we fighting for? What I said and will continue to say is that all of us are from this country. Nobody is a second class citizen.

“We are agreed that this is how our party will be. Recently Prof. A.B.C Nwosu resigned from the party saying that his conscience will not allow him, that the constitution of the party is clear, if you take this, these other people will take that. Why now are we saying that we won’t do it again?

“What the people are saying is look, you have taken this, let these people take that and you are saying you will take all. If you take all, you will also face the repercussions.”

The Governor declared that anybody fighting the state would surely be defeated at the poll.

He maintained that God had blessed the state so much that he would not allow its adversaries to become victorious because the protective wall still remained difficult to penetrate.

Wike stressed that even if Rivers loved peace, it could not be intimidated and made to succumb to persons, who just wanted to milk it and deny it rightful place in the scheme of national politics.

He said: “You can not fight anybody that God has blessed. God has blessed Rivers State. Anybody fighting Rivers State, you are fighting yourself.

“Nobody can intimidate us. No one State in this country can intimidate Rivers State. If you want to fight us, we will fight you to the last.

“If you want to make peace with us, we will make peace with you to the last. But thinking that anybody will come and intimidate us and then we will chicken out, that is not possible.”

Wike flayed people like Senator George Thompson Sekibo for working against the interest of Rivers and wondered the benefits he could attract to his people.

The Rivers governor described Senator Sekibo as an ungrateful politician, who believed that only he should be the leading light in his local government.

Wike said he ensured that Mr. Akin Fakorede, a former head of the notorious SARS team in Rivers State, did not succeed in stalling the announcement of the 2015 senatorial election of Sekibo adding that he footed his legal fees at the tribunal.

The Rivers governor insisted that it was time the people of Ogu/Bolo local government and all Rivers people stood together against those working against the interest of the state.

Wike announced the award of contract for the construction of Eli Town landing jetty, and the Eteo-Ogu Road in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area.

The Governor also assured the payment of the remaining contractual sums in the coming week for the remodelled Junior Secondary School in Ogu, sandfilling project, and Kera-K-Dere Road.

A group, Young Progressives in Oyo State (YPO), has thrown its weight behind the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives flag-bearer in Ibadan North, Lanre Sarumi, saying he remains the best candidate for the Federal Constituency.

YPO said Sarumi has comprehensive youth-focus agenda that could liberate the younger generations.

A statement by YPO President, Wale Adeoye, said Sarumi’s track record is unprecedented and unmatched among the candidates vying for Ibadan North federal constituency.

The statement reads: “Born Olanrewaju Olalekan Sarumi into the Akintayo Basiri-Sarumi Family of Abebi in Ibadan Oyo state. Sarumi is a Software Technology Delivery Consultant, who has consulted for various sector organisations such as Insurance, Health sector, Government, Non for profit Organisations and more, supporting software implementation at multiple capacity”.

We’re taking over FCT for Tinubu, says City Boy Movement

City Boy Movement, a Pro-Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu group, has vowed to use the February 25th Presidential and National Assembly elections to root out Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from political dominance of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The Director of Mobilisation of the movement Francis Oluwatosin Shoga made this vow in Kubwa, a suburb of the nation’s capital city during a Community Engagement with Youth and Women Groups outreach programme by the movement at the Palace of Maitamayi of Kubwa.

Shoga said the movement has embarked on voter education and sensitisation through the community engagement programme in all the Area Councils of the FCT with the sole aim of flushing out PDP from the political space of the nation’s capital

He said the door-to-door campaign by his movement was designed primarily to reach out to every and cranny of the Territory, to change the voting narrative of the FCT in favour of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all the APC candidates for the February 25 elections.

“We are now on the street educating the people and the response so far has been impressive. We are going to root out the PDP from the political space of FCT come February 25. The people are eager to vote for Asiwaju and APC,” Shoga stated.

Former Bwari Area Council Chairman, Hon. Musa Diko reaffirmed the electoral misfortune awaiting the PDP at the next month’s polls.

“Though PDP has been in partial control of FCT, come February 25, the party will slump and APC will take over. Our people have seen what PDP has done especially in the Senate and House of Representatives. They have nothing to show. The mistake was made in the past, and we are ready to correct it and that is why we are going about with this sensitization. We (APC) are set to take over.”
