I can’t leave my mansion for another woman – May Yul

May Yul Edochie, the first wife of actor Yul Edochie has finally reacted to her husband’s decision to take a second wife.

This is coming just days after the duo was seen celebrating her birthday in an event.

Yul Edochie announced on the birthday event ground that he was there to support his wife and that gave netizens the idea that the duo had settled their scores.

But it seems May had not allowed the sleeping dog lie as she insists that polygamy is against her faith and values.

In an instagram post, she said she will not leave her home as she built with the husband with whom she started in an humble way.

According to her: “The ability to accept or tolerate challenges and problems in life is a virtue, and should not be misconstrued. There is no point making an already bad situation worse, hence the need to remain calm is crucial.

“I understand that we all have our weaknesses and limitations as humans, and I personally believe everyone deserves an opportunity to make things right when they stray… Forgiveness is divine.

“Beyond all the unnecessary facades, Polygamy is a life choice and no one should be compelled to accept it. It is something I think all parties involved should embrace willingly, and it’s okay for anyone who chooses it. Some religions|traditions allow polygamy and I have nothing against it.

“However, I am ABSOLUTELY certain that I will not be NUMBERED as a wife or be cajoled to accept a practice that does not align with my faith and family values.

“God blessed me with a happy, peaceful, and lovely family in a beautiful and JOINTLY built “mansion” that started from little or nothing…humble beginnings. What more could I have been asking for? I had a stable and loving home prior to the unprecedented events regarding my marriage.

“Life is made up of an infinite amount of choices. Most decisions might be tough to make, but whenever we confront our options with courage and confidence, we should equally be open to the paths of our own design. I believe that we are solely responsible for our choices, and we have to accept the consequences of every deed, word, and thought that comes with it in our lifetime.

“We should understand that taking life changing decisions hastily is not the best. God in His infinite mercy fixes things in His own time, He will definitely answer all our prayers.

“Thank you all for your continuous prayers, love and support. May God bless you abundantly 🙏.

“It’s still my birth month 🙂

Ronaldo speaks after nasty injury scare

Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo has played down any fears that he could be a doubt for next weekend’s derby against Manchester City after suffering an injury to his face while on international duty with Portugal.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner, who scored his first goal of the season in United’s 2-0 win over Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League just over a week ago, was left with blood streaming from his nose after clashing with goalkeeper Tomas Vaclik during Portugal’s 4-0 win over the Czech Republic in Prague on Saturday evening.

With just 13 minutes on the clock, Ronaldo, who later provided the assist for Diogo Jota to net Portugal’s fourth goal, collided with Vaclik, with the Czech Republic goalkeeper slamming into the United ace’s face with his arms. It was a purely accidental collision but it left Ronaldo requiring medical attention.

Fortunately for him, Portugal and United, he was able to continue and completed the full duration of the match. And taking to social media in the aftermath of the 4-0 victory, the 37-year-old made no comment in relation to his injury, suggesting that he has suffered no lasting damage and is fine to feature in Portugal’s huge clash with Spain on Tuesday evening.

Taking to his Instagram page, Ronaldo wrote: “Great game, important team win! We stay focused on our goal. Thanks to the Portuguese audience for the fantastic support.”

Ronaldo, who also suffered a blow to his ankle during the contest, will be hoping to help fire Portugal to the finals of the Nations League when they face Spain in their final Group A2 clash on Tuesday. The 2016 European Championship winners will require just a point in Braga to seal top spot.

Spain, however, could leapfrog them and secure top spot with a win, meaning the contest has plenty riding on it. Meanwhile, the win over the Czechs was inspired by goals from United duo Diogo Dalot (2) and Bruno Fernandes.

‘Adebanjo not speaking for Yoruba or Afenifere’

The Acting Leader of Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo’s position on 2023 polls is not the collective decision of the organisation, All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council said on Saturday.

Its Director of Media and Publicity, Bayo Onanuga, said Afenifere Leader Chief Reuben Fasoranti and other eminent chieftains never adopted the Labour Party(LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

In a statement , Onanuga said:”Papa Ayo Adebanjo does not speak for Afenifere. He is free as an individual to support anyone he likes, in furtherance of his democratic right.

“We know for a fact that Baba has turned Afenifere into his personal estate as Acting Leader. We are also certain that there was nowhere Afenifere, as we know it, met and took a decision to adopt Mr. Peter Obi as a candidate for 2023 presidential election.”

He added:”We respect the age of Baba Adebanjo, but he can not turn Afenifere into his personal franchise for any political alliance.

“We are very much aware that Baba Reuben Fasoranti, the real leader of Afenifere, had stated clearly that Pa Adebanjo has always been speaking for himself on many national issues using the name of the group.

“It is our well considered position that Pa Adebanjo cannot appropriate Afenifere. Baba is just an individual who is free to support any politician of his choice. As an individual, he cannot equate himself with the socio-cultural and socio-political organisation.”

    Kwara 100 percent behind Tinubu-AbdulRasaq

Kwara Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has assured that the
State is 100 percent behind the All progressives Congress (APC)
presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

AbdulRazaq added that the feat the APC recorded in the 2019 elections at all levels would repeat itself in the 2023 elections.

The Governor said this in Ilorin, Kwara state at the inauguration of the North Central Agenda for Asiwaju (NCAA) office.

“We did it in 2019 that brought President Muhammadu Buhari for his
reelection in 2019. in Kwara state, the state that is reputed to support APC, we are going to deliver all our votes to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the elections,” the Governor added.

The Governor was represented by Health Commissioner Raji Razak.

Also Coordinator,Tinubu Support Groups for 2023 in Nigeria, Senator

Adeyeye, who is also the National Chairman of South West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA), added that the former Lagos Governor is a great thinker with track records of achievements in office.

The Ekliti prince urged all to begin the campaign of selling the
candidature of Tinubu to all the nooks and crannies of the State.

SWAGA Convener Oyetunde Ojo said Tinubu is what Nigeria needs at these trying times.

Ojo said: “We are in a situation in this country where we need Asiwaju
Bola Ahmed Tinubu. There was a time China when they were in situation
like this and they called on Chairman Mao; there was a time in US when
they were in certain situation like this, they called on Rosevelt, a
cripple and he came, ruled and brought America out of crisis.
“There was a time in the history of the United Kingdom, they needed
Wilson Churchill and he came and bailed them out. At this present
point in time we are in a precarious situation. And the only person
that can deliver this country from that situation is Asiwaju Tinubu.

“However, I want to appeal to all of us to go out there and campaign.
The main election is on the street. Let go out there and tell the
people the reason why they should support Tinubu.

“I can always assure that this man will salvage the country from its
current situation. We don’t need to doubt his ability. Let us go out
there and spread the gospel of Tinubu’s previous achievements. Don’t
let us assure that we will win smoothly. Remember that the other man
in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is not a small fry.”

  • Hungary beat Germany to near Nations league final

Hungary beat Germany to near Nations league final

Hungary remained in pole position to qualify for the Nations League finals from Group A3 after a spectacular win over Germany in Leipzig.

Adam Szalai scored the winner as he met a corner with a spectacular backheeled flick that looped into the far corner.

The 34-year-old is set to retire after Monday’s final group game saying he had been “looking for the right time” in his pre-match news conference.

Hungary host Italy in their final group game, knowing a draw sees them through.

They had looked set to qualify for the finals for large periods of the night, but Italy’s win over England in Milan meant qualification will be decided between the two sides on Monday.

The result continues Hungary’s brilliant record in the Nations League. When the tournament was launched in 2018 they were in League C, but back-to-back promotions have seen them rise to League A and they are well set to qualify for the finals at the first time of asking.

After Hungary, who failed to qualify for this winter’s World Cup in Qatar, took the lead through Szalai’s 26th international goal they came closest to scoring again in the first half, with Willi Orban’s effort well smothered by Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

It took Germany until the 39th minute to register a shot on target as Thomas Muller’s back-post header was comfortably saved by Peter Gulacsi.

Former Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick made a tactical change at half-time, with West Ham’s Thilo Kehrer replacing Serge Gnabry and it allowed the hosts to dominate, having 80% possession in the opening 15 minutes of the second period.

It also brought about chances as Leroy Sane saw an effort saved at the near post, before Muller saw a 20-yard volley disallowed for offside.

However, changes by both sides broke their rhythm and it was Hungary who came closest to extending their lead with Martin Adam and Laszlo Kleinheisler having goalbound strikes saved.

The defeat means that Germany are unable to qualify for the finals, but they will also remain in League A after England’s loss in Italy saw them relegated.

Wike never said Tinubu offered him senatorial ticket – Rivers

The Rivers State Government has described as false a reporting quoting Governor Nyesom Wike as saying that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu offered him a senatorial ticket.

The Government, in a statement by Wike’s Special Assistant, Media, Kelvin Ebiri, clarified that there was no time during the Governor’s media chat on Friday he made such statement.

Ebiri wondered where some national dailies and online newspapers fabricated such report in an interview that was aired live on four television stations.

He said: “We wish to state emphatically that this news is false, baseless and ludicrous as the Rivers State governor throughout the media chat never mentioned the name of the APC presidential candidate or alluded to him offering him a senatorial ticket.

“To lay the facts bare, we have decided to include herein the transcript of what governor Wike said concerning senatorial form.

“‘First of all, this is how you know those who are prepared to run an election. Some of them collected presidential form at the same time collected senatorial form. You’ll know that those people are not serious to run.

“‘I never collected senatorial form. Even after the whole thing, people said come and go for Senate, I said no. I won’t do that. I’ve already made a commitment that this Senate ticket should be zoned to this area (Etche) because they’ve never had it before. I must not be in power’.”

Ebiri added: “In an era of increasingly divisive political climate, the tendency to pervert the truth is extremely high. It is on this basis that we wish to remind journalists that journalism’s first obligation is to the truth.

“At this critical juncture in our nation, we wish to remind journalists that getting the facts right is the cardinal principle of journalism. Journalists are enjoined to always strive for accuracy and give all the relevant facts in their report.

God has not shown me the next President – Kumuyi

The General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church Pastor William Kumuyi has said that he has not received any revelation from God on the next President.

He however promised to make it known once he receives the revelation from God.

Kumuyi said he cannot question God why he has not revealed who the next President would be to him.

Kumuyi spoke with reporters in Minna at the Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK) with the theme: “God of all possibilities” on Saturday.

He said: ” I cannot tell you a lie. God has not shown me anything. He has not found it fit to tell me. He does not tell everybody, everything.

“Who am I to tell God why haven’t you tell me about the next President. When he tells me, I will come and tell you.”

He said that only dialogue would resolve the impasse between the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the Federal Government, adding that going to court, issuing threats and having series of protests is not the solution.

“The conflict between ASUU and the Federal government requires dialogue as the way forward, rioting may or might not solve the problem. When two institutions and opposing bodies have a challenge, they should look at the challenge from both points of view.

“The university needs to look at what the government is saying, what is their abilities, what can they do while the government should look at what ASUU is saying, what are they asking for, their rights and how to meet that right. What is needed in this case is to look at how they can adjust to each other and look for ways of fulfilling it,” he said.

Kumuyi praye both sides would resolve the issues they had to enable the students to return to school.
