    Seyi Sodimu eulogises Tiwa Savage

    Singer Seyi Sodimu has eulogised Tiwa Savage for what he said is enviable commitment to her craft.

    The “Love Me Jeje” singer praised Savage for damning the rain to give her fans an exhilarating performance in Kampala.

    In a video shared on his page, Sodimu could be seen hugging Tiwa Savage backstage while appreciating the passion she puts into her craft.

    The concluding part of the video saw part of Tiwa Savage’s stage performance on stage.

    Captioning the video, ‘Mr Jeje’ advised artistes and generality of entertainers never to take their fans or supporters for granted adding, nothing lasts forever.

    “As an artist and entertainer it is a privilege and blessing to do what we do. Please never take your fans or supporters for granted!

    Seyi Sodimu is best known for his hit single “Love Me Jeje”, which made him popular in Nigeria in the late 1990s and early 2000s. He is a pioneer of the ever-growing music industry.

    500- level student commits suicide in Abia

    A 500-level student of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike, MOUAU, Abia State Modestus Hyacinth Egbulefu has committed suicide after taking suspected hard drugs.

    Egbulefu, who is a student of the Department of Electrical/Electronic Engineering residing in Ikwuano local government area, was said to have jumped from the three-story building identified as Groom Base Lodge after allegedly taking some substances suspected to be ”Mkpulu mmiri.”

    The incident occurred around 9:40 am at the lodge as other students were shocked at the incident and tried in vain to revive him.

    Sources disclosed that he died on the spot before he could receive medical attention.

    It was further gathered that his corpse has been deposited at an undisclosed mortuary in the area.

    The Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) Abia State Command, SP Geoffrey Ogbonna, confirmed the death of the student.

    Ogbonna however added that an investigation has commenced on the matter.

    Leadership crisis rocks Ondo Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church

    Leadership crisis is rocking the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church in Ondo State as a Prophet in the church, Kerubu Oluwagbemi, has cried out over plot to assassinate him.

    Prophet Oluwagbemi said he escaped death by the whiskers when the gun pointed at him by the assassins failed to fire.

    Oluwagbemi said they were after his life because he has been tipped to be the substantive Chairman the Ondo chapter of the church.

    He said the incident happened at a branch of the church in Idanre, Idanre local government area.

    According to him: “I am the Chairman to be of the Unification Church of Nigeria, Ondo state chapter. We were in a meeting of Unification Church of Nigeria, Ondo state chapter, in Idanre when, suddenly, some people came in. One of them was carrying a gun. They said they were asked to kill me.

    “The gun did not fire when they pointed it at me but it fired when it was pointed in another direction and all of us ran away.

    “We have tried our best to pursue the incident, but the suspect arrested by the police has been released.

    “Ondo state government should please wage into the incident because my life is at risk. They wanted to kill me because of the leadership position.”

    Madam General of the church, Mrs. Apata Ogunbayo, said they ran into the bush when the shooting started.

    “They said they wanted to kill one person, which is Prophet Kerubu Oluwagbemi. We ran into the bush. We are calling on the police and the state government to intervene on the attack, We want those that came to be arrested.

    “We are the members of the Unification Church of Nigeria, Ondo state branch, but someone now came that he wanted to be the Chairman and we have been there since 2011. They just wanted to grab the chairmanship position in Ondo state. That is why we are appealing to the state government and the National body of the Unification Church of Nigeria to wage in into the issues because we don’t want to lose anybody as regards the leadership position.”
