Toolz faults Pastor Faith Oyedepo’s ‘pregnancy bleeding’ testimony

Media personality Toolz Oniru-Demuren has faulted Pastor Faith Oyedepo, wife of Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church Worldwide over her testimony on how she miraculously avoided miscarriage.

She advised people who experience bleeding during pregnancy to go straight to the hospital rather than try what the cleric did.

A few days ago, Faith recounted how her pregnancy was sustained by her husband’s “bold faith”.

In a tweet thread, the wife of the founder of the Living Faith Church recalled how she saw blood flowing from her nearly four decades ago when she was pregnant with their first son.

Faith said she told her husband that she “had a miscarriage” but the cleric boldly responded, “you can’t have a miscarriage” before asking to be served his meal.

According to her, her husband’s bold declaration “activated the spirit of faith in her and the pregnancy was sustained.”

She admonished Christians on building their faith in God so that they can also enjoy miracles on daily basis.

“I remember when I was pregnant with our first son, one day I saw blood flowing from me and when my husband returned home, I told him that I had a miscarriage. Boldly, and without any hesitation, he said, “You can’t have a miscarriage!”, and then asked to be served his meal.

”That statement activated the spirit of faith and the pregnancy was sustained. You need to accelerate your operation of the spirit of faith daily, and then you will find the miraculous a daily occurrence for you,” Faith Oyedepo tweeted.

But Toolz who expressed how ‘annoyed’ she was over Faith’s testimony, urged women never to ignore bleeding signs during pregnancy

She argued Nigeria accounted for one of the worst maternal mortality rates in the world because the people would rather listen to speeches like Pastor Faith’s, ignoring medical intervention.

“Pls don’t do this. If you’re bleeding from a possible miscarriage go to hospital. Last thing you should be doing is making food for anyone,” she said.

The OAP added: “I’m so annoyed! Nigeria has one of the worst maternal mortality rates in the world, and someone is here saying ignore bleeding during pregnancy and enter kitchen.”

Never compare me to anyone in ‘craze’ business- Terry G

While social media users engage in a comparison debate of Gabriel Oche Amanyi aka Terry G to his younger colleague, Habeeb Okikiola Omolalomi aka Portable, the former has cautioned against it.

Terry G fondly called the ‘Akpako master’ was widely known for his eccentric dress sense, controversial lyrics, perhaps awkward identity and mannerism.

He was also considered the ‘weirdest and craziest singer’ in Nigeria at some point until he seemingly went off the radar.

Then came along the ‘Zazu’ crooner with even more ‘crase’.

With all of his mannerisms, looks, expression, constant use of curse words and so much more, many began to reconsider Terry G’s ‘craziest/weirdest musician’ title.

The comparison contest of Portable and the ‘Ginjah master’ became more intense with recent events following the former’s declaration of himself as a ‘baboon’ who lived in the zoo as captured in a viral video he made when police invaded his bar to arrest him.

As the debate continues, one Victor Babatunde demanded apology from people who compared Terry G’s ‘crase’ to Portable’s, suggesting the self-styled ‘wahala’ musician had monopoly of madness.

Babatunde tweeted: “Those of you that compared Terry G’s madness to Portable should apologize right now!!!”

However, Terry G went under the tweet to warn individuals never to compare authenticity to imitation when it came to the business of ‘madness’.

Akpako master wrote: “In this craze business please never you compare original to photocopy because una mind go dey soon”G.”

  • Perils of rebelling against divine authority

Perils of rebelling against divine authority

    BY PRECIOUS IFODE

Rebelling against one’s assignment from God can produce many painful experiences that correct the individual. When an individual deliberately rebels against God, He allows such a person or the group of persons to go through painful experiences to correct the person(s) involved.

In 1 Samuel 15:23, God said rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft. Rebellion is an attitude displayed to contradict authority. It started from creation. When God created Adam and Eve, He put them in the Garden of Eden and gave them instructions on what to do and what not to do. But Adam rebelled against God and it resulted in suffering before the birth of Jesus Christ. Rebellion against God comes with consequences of magnitude proportion. One of the consequences is pain.

Pain is a natural and necessary tool of God’s corrective process (Hebrews 12:7). It often manifests itself as physical, emotional and spiritual pain.
Physical pain is a warning sign from God for us to change.

From the scripture, in Jonah chapter 4, we saw what happened to Jonah. The Lord spoke to Jonah son of Amittai. He said: “Go to Nineveh, that great city, and speak out against it; I am aware of how wicked its people are.” Instead of obeying God, He set out in the opposite direction to get away from the Lord.
“Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.”

God sometimes uses special means to bring rebels to repentance, and the rebel always suffers greatly from the stringent measures that God finds necessary to use.
Emotional pain is another way that God uses to correct us. It is inevitable, and it should not be taken personally. Every experience in life teaches us something. When we get through our emotional pain, we may find that we have gained new insights and knowledge.

Spiritual pain is the deepest pain of all. It can be the most difficult to endure, but it is also the most beneficial. Spiritual pain often leads us to repentance, regeneration and restoration. When we rebel against God, He permits painful experiences to correct us.

  • How God works with us

    How God works with us

    BY OLUNIYI TOLUWANI ANUOLUWA

It is easy to be overwhelmed by fear, despair and chaos in our world today. Many negative occurrences try to steal our hope and cause us to doubt the promises, plans and purpose of God for our life.
There is a famous inspiring quote by author and Pastor, Neale Donald Walsch. “God will not show you the picture of what he is bringing you through, he will show you what he is bringing you to.” Walsch is speaking to the idea that we will not often see the trials and tribulations that happen in our life. We may see the aftermath, but not the process. This is often seen as a good thing, because it allows us to focus on what is ahead and trust God.

In our journey through life, we are sometimes faced with overwhelming challenges that are difficult for us to handle. During this period, we usually hope that there will be an immediate answer to these challenges. But in most cases, even after committing the situation into God’s hand, we still battle the problem for some times.

Walsch’s quote is applicable to our relationship with God as well. We often think that if we just pray for guidance, we will get what we need. However, that is not how God works. Rather than showing us what he wants us to do, God often works through hardships and trials to teach us what we need to know. This is often the most difficult thing to accept, but it is ultimately the most rewarding. We will often see what we need to change in our life before we get the opportunity to make the changes ourselves. Sometimes we need to go through pain in order to be fulfilled.
A major reason why God don’t show us the picture of what He is bringing us through is because God want us to focus on what is the most important thing. For our light affliction which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory 2 Cor.4:17-18. He want us to keep our focus and concentrate on the final goal rather than to lose our focus in our quest for His promises.

We must remember that God is always with us. He is working everything out for our good, and he will never leave us or forsake us. Despite what may be happening in our life, we can believe God and trust in Him that even if we go through the most challenging times of our life and we seem not to understand why we go through such times, God will inevitably work out things in our favour as long as we put our trust in Him.

I’ll quit comedy at 50 to experience something new – Basketmouth

Veteran comedian Basketmouth announced his intention to quit the industry in the next five years when he clocked 50.

According to Basketmouth in an interview with Hitz1039fm, he desires to experience something new and would love to be remembered for something different other than comedy.

However, the actor noted he would still be cracking jokes but solely for fun and not for business.

“For the past six years, I’ve just been floating. So last year, I told myself and my team that you know what, I’m coming back to comedy and I’m going to do five years and I’m quitting. Yeah, I’m quitting in five years. I’ve got five more years to do this and I’m done.

“There’s a plan. The way I’ve planned my life, I was like okay when you get to 50, you drop the mic.

“Definitely, I’ll be cracking jokes every now and then but it’s not going to be the professional thing for me. So if you see me doing a gig it’s just maybe I’m doing pro-bono but I’ll not charge anybody to perform again. You understand? Because I’ve made enough, I won’t say I’ve made enough but I’ve committed myself to the act long enough that I’m like take a break or quit and whatever you’re doing from now till the end of time, you’re just having fun.

“I’m into TV right now, movies, series, and all that; concert production. That’s where I want to try. I want to start a new journey. I want to experience something new.

“At the end of five years, that’s like 31 years in the game. That’s a lot of time. That’s pretty much out of my life. So I want to do something else and I want to be remembered for other things other than you know.”

FEC approves N24.2bn free internet for 20 airports, varsities, markets

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved two contracts worth N24.20 billion for the provision of broadband for free internet in 75 public places, including 20 airports, tertiary institutions and markets nationwide.

This was disclosed to State House Correspondents by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Pantami, after the Council meeting, which was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

According to the various ministers who spoke at the post-FEC media briefing, an aggregate sum of N209.36 billion was approved for various projects.

Giving a breakdown of his own approvals, Pantami said his two memoranda were related, since they both were focused on providing free internet connectivity services, explaining further that the second one was complementary to a similar approval last year.

“So both memos, you will discover that they will provide broadband to these institutions at the price of approximately N24.20 billion and the project is going to be implemented by the Nigerian Communications Commission.

“The duration for the project is four months minimum and a maximum of five months and there is a budgetary provision for that. Also, the fund to sponsor the implementation has been secured by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR.

“For universities, it’s because we have learned bitter and better lessons during the COVID-19, so we don’t want to go back to that, we want to ensure that students and staff benefit from unlimited internet. For airports, we know the difficulty when you land without any connectivity. So it will even at least make our airports more lively, if there is at least internet connectivity that is for free.

“Thirdly for the market, it’s to support innovation-driven enterprises that are being championed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where we try to give global visibility to our innovators, to our micro, small and medium enterprises, so that their market is not going to be narrowed and restricted only to our local communities”, he explained.

The council also approved two major contracts for the construction of a Centre of Excellence for environmental restoration Wiiyaakara in Kana council area of Rivers State and a 100-bed specialist hospital in Ogoni.

I prefer intimate scenes with seasoned actors – Nancy Isime

Popular actress Nancy Isime has revealed her preference in terms of actors she acts in intimate scenes that involved kissing and s3x.

She stated when it came to such scenes; she’d rather play them with professional actors who understood the ethics of the job.

The 31-year-old movie star stated this in an interview with Ehizojie Okeoguale aka Dadaboy Ehiz where she also suggested such scenes did not excite her emotions because they were scripted and more so, they are done with several eyes watching.

“I prefer to actually have kissing scenes with seasoned actors who understand the professionalism of a kissing scene or s3x scene.

“S3x scene, of course, because everybody is all dressed up but there is movement. So there are literally people who understand the job and are focused and are literally just running through a script,” she stated.

Prayers tomorrow for President-elect’s 71st birthday anniversary

    • Tinubu calls for solemn reflection, thanksgiving to mark his special day

President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called for special prayers and thanksgiving, instead of the annual colloquium, to mark his 71st birthday tomorrow.

The special prayers will be held in Lagos and other parts of the country.

A statement yesterday in Abuja by Tunde Rahman of his media office said the main event will be in Lagos, with special prayers held at the Central Mosque in each of the five divisions in the state, including the Central Mosque at Alausa, and Ikeja.

The special prayers will be offered for the peace, unity and progress of Nigeria.

Also to receive prayers, among others, are: President Muhammadu Buhari and First Lady Aisha Buhari; President-elect Tinubu and his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu; Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima and his wife, Hajia Nana Shettima; Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, other governors, as well as members of National Assembly and states’ Houses of Assembly.

A programme of events released by Imam Akeem Kosoko on behalf of the organisers of the prayer sessions showed that the prayers to be offered at Alausa Central Mosque will begin at 10 a.m tomorrow and will include the delivery of sermons and reading from the Holy Qur’an.

This year will be the third in recent times the birthday colloquium will not hold in deference to developments in the country.

In 2020, the 12th edition of the colloquium marking Asíwájú’s 68th birthday, was put off to empathise with those who died or were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Last year, the birthday symposium was also called off by Asíwájú Tinubu right at the venue of the event when news got to town of the terror attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train in which several persons died and many others abducted.

The Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos venue was already filled with dignitaries to celebrate the birthday when Asíwájú took to the podium to announce the cancellation of the event.

The former Lagos State governor had said it would not be proper for him as a statesman to celebrate when such a tragedy had befallen the nation.

“For me to be here celebrating, dancing and enjoying myself does not speak of me as a senior citizen of this country. I asked that the cleric should rather engage in prayers. This event should not be held,” Tinubu had said on the occasion.

This year, the President-elect said the date, which falls within the holy month of Ramadan, should be dedicated to prayers and seeking God’s guidance for him and the country as he prepares to take the reins of national leadership.
