    Nancy Isime responds to criticism over movie project

    Actress Nancy Isime has addressed the backlash she received from the Muslim community over her upcoming movie project.

    After promoting her film with photos of herself wearing a niqab and holding a gun, a Muslim lady criticised her for disrespecting the Islamic faith and using the niqab as a costume.

    Isime responded on Instagram, sharing new photos and emphasising her focus on her goals and peace.

    She stated she chooses to ignore drama and gossip, and doesn’t take others’ opinions personally to protect her peace.

    She added that her light often highlights others’ insecurities, which they project back as flaws.

    “Really out the way. In my own world. No drama, no gossip. Just goals and money. Peace is where I’m at. I don’t bother nobody & I’m not bothered by nobody. That’s my peace. To protect my peace, I stopped taking other people’s projected opinions personally.

    “Reminder: Your light often highlights other people’s insecurities and shortcomings, which they will then project back to you as a flaw. It’s a coping mechanism. Attacking you makes them feel safer.

    In a recent interview, Actor Deyemi Okanlawon shared how he handled a lady who disparaged the Nigerian film industry.

    He said the fan, who claimed not to watch Nigerian movies, asked for a photo with him, which he declined.

    Okanlawon, known for his wit and confidence, retorted by saying he doesn’t take “Nigerian photos.”

    The actor’s response garnered widespread support from fans and fellow industry professionals, who praised his stance against the lady’s condescending remark.

    Actress Nkechi Blessing has expressed heartfelt emotions and reflections after a significant meeting with Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke.

    She confessed that before becoming a mother, she thought she would have multiple nannies for her child but she has become a hands-on mom.

    Simi revealed that she only hires nannies when she’s in Nigeria but takes care of her daughter when they’re abroad.

    “Before I had my daughter, I used to say that I would have five nannies and my nanny would have a nanny; that’s not the case.”

    “I was so certain back then that I was like, ‘I will have two nannies and those nannies will have a nanny and their nannies will have nannies too’. I shouldn’t have thought that, though, knowing me, I really shouldn’t have,” she stated.

    She also expressed a desire to explore new creative interests, including writing a novel and working on a children’s project.

    “I’m trying to write a book, a novel. I used to say that if I wasn’t an artiste I would probably be a novelist. Maybe some romance. Some fantasy, some suspense. I also want to work on a children’s project; it’s an untapped market,” Simi said.
