“We don’t talk” – Adekunle speaks on relationship with Venita

Big Brother Naija star, Adekunle Olopade, has confirmed his breakup with Venita Akpofure, his former partner from the All Stars edition.

In an interview with Olufemi Daniel, Adekunle described their relationship in the house as “real” but declined to use the word “love”, implying a deep connection but not necessarily romance.

Adekunle chose not to share details out of respect for Venita but revealed that they no longer talk or communicate due to “bad things” that happened.

He said: “I would like to think that we were in a relationship in the Big Brother’s house. I wouldn’t want to use the word love. It’s too strong for that scenario. But what we had was more than an understanding. I think we when we’re in the House together, it was a real thing,” Adekunle said.

“After the show, we had a conversation about our relationship. Out of respect for her and also because she’s not here, I will not give out the details. But we had a conversation outside the House. It was a conversation and it was an understanding but the result was not what was anticipated.”

“I don’t talk to her anymore because we don’t have a relationship. We don’t communicate, we don’t speak [with each other]. A lot of bad things happened, that’s why I’m not going to share them here out of respect for her.”

Why I’m worried about online ‘baddies’ – Funke Akindele

Filmmaker and actress, Funke Akindele, has expressed concerns about the “baddies” trend on social media, where females showcase their physical appearance and luxurious lifestyles.

She emphasised the importance of content creators promoting positive messages beyond mere entertainment.

Akindele advised individuals to focus on their brand and produce content that inspires and educates others.

She also encouraged viewers to critically evaluate the content they consume, questioning the authenticity of what they see online.

Akindele stresses the need for substance beyond physical appearance, urging “baddies” to showcase their intellectual and creative abilities, making a positive impact on their audience.

Speaking in an interview with Arise News, she said: “I enjoy watching beautiful content, but you have to watch what you churn out. You need to focus on your brand, what you’re selling, and what you want people to learn from you.

“If you’re an actor, a self-made person, what are you churning out? You must influence lives positively with the content you churn out. And for you that are watching content, are you watching to be entertained, to learn? ‘A’ is carrying a designer bag and showing you on video, how sure are you that she’s not borrowing the bag? How sure are you she’s rich? Don’t believe everything on social media.

“I’m so worried about these so-called baddies. A baddie without showcasing what you have upstairs? We need to know what you are doing, and what positive content you are doing that people would be proud of. Give us that on the table. Yes, it’s good to showcase fashion. But what do you have upstairs to show us? Are you just a baddie for the mouth? Even if you are a dancer, what else do you have?”

  • Mothers fuelling ‘Yahoo Yahoo’, ‘hook-up’ trends, says K Solo

Mothers fuelling ‘Yahoo Yahoo’, ‘hook-up’ trends, says K Solo

Music producer K-Solo has blamed women, particularly mothers for fuelling internet fraud and online s3x marketing popularly known as ‘hook-up’ in Nigeria.

In an interview with Arise TV, he asserted that mothers encourage their children to engage in these vices, citing a personal experience where he confronted a mother who was encouraging her underage daughter to engage in illicit activities.

K-Solo believed that women have a significant role in addressing these issues and inspiring young girls to make better choices.

He also criticised female celebrities for promoting luxurious lifestyles without revealing their hard work, adding to the problem.

K-Solo said: “Hook-up in Nigeria is now like ordering food. It’s almost normal. They even defend it by saying it happens abroad. But I think there should be rules guiding it.

“A lot is backed from the underground. The people who can help from the home side are the women; the mothers. I’m sorry, but mothers are the biggest disasters. There was a day when my car broke down on the road and I saw a young girl, she should be like 16 or 17, and she was going out. I heard the mother tell her in Yoruba to bring something back. I confronted the mother, asking where her child works because she was dressed so fine and looked too good to be going to the office in that dress. She couldn’t answer.

“I looked at the mother and said, ‘By look, I’m older than you. What are you doing at home that you’re telling that poor girl to bring something home?’ Now, let me quickly add this again, when Yahoo started in Nigeria, it was the mothers who were picking up the fraud proceeds from the bank. This shouldn’t sound like I’m talking from a book. It’s what has been happening.

“The day mothers and female advocates start speaking against these vices more, there will be a lot of changes. The day female celebrities who flaunt their luxurious lifestyles on the internet come out and let girls know how they hustle on the fields, a lot of young girls will go back to the drawing board.”

My DM filled with broken fathers – Do2dtun

Media personality Do2dtun has shared frustration after being denied access to his daughters following separation from ex-wife, Omotayo.

He said despite being an involved father, he has been alienated from his family, and ex-wife.

He alleged her family sought to destroy his character by taking his children overseas without his knowledge or consent, making it difficult for him to see them.

Do2dtun questioned how society expects him to move on from this situation, asking how a father who was present for his daughters’ milestones and shared a strong bond with them can be told to accept a selfish plot designed to harm him.

In a lengthy Instagram post, he wrote: “How do U tell a FATHER that was present for the first baby steps to move on? sadly I can’t find Fife’s baby steps cos it got lost with my other phone

“How do you tell a FATHER that shared a bond with his daughters to accept a plot that was selfish all in the name to mar me and destroy my character to stop talking?

“How do you tell a FATHER who was present to take only phone calls as your means of communication to children you birthed ?

“How do you convince a FATHER to accept lies, false accusations and leave it to God?

“How do you blackmail or convince a FATHER that was completely goofy, very intuitive, never wanted to be part of a bandwagon of ignorance; never wanted to be part of shady practices or buy battles of evil but the only way to punish me is take my kids away to let go ?

“How do tell a FATHER who puts his family before anyone to let go ? How do you tell a FATHER that keeps fighting for what is right to stop fighting?

“I can go on and on but I am not the FATHER that will be judged cos of his public persona of “SPEAKING THE TRUTH OR BEING EDGY” as your weapon to label me against my DAUGHTERS or meaningful people who still cared to listen to the real story and my struggle. As for my gullible peers who never ever called to even hear my side but be a judge cos of what you will eat “YOU WILL NEVER KNOW PEACE” .. KO NI DA FUN YIN.. i no join una setting hence why some of you didnt care even when I cared for all your careers. I hate a system that allows money & power to be their bedrock of achievements over goodwill. I am not that type of “FATHER”

“I don’t live my life without proof cos I don’t want to be a father whose foundation was made to conform to what the society believes it should be.
