Governor of Cross River State, Benedict Ayade, has enjoyed good reviews in recent times. While most states are struggling to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, there is no single case in Cross River and public schools will resume on June 16.

Although Ayade deserves all the accolades for due the preventive efforts put in place immediately the pandemic entered Nigeria, there is need to praise his wife, Linda Ayade, also. Behind every successful man, there is always a supporting woman.

Only a few people know that the current first lady of Cross River State is a medical doctor with over 10 years working experience in the United Kingdom.

This has prepared her for the critical roles she has played in the fight against Covid-19 in the state.

She supervises the purchase of grains from the local market in Calabar and inspects various palliative materials for onward distribution to the needy.

Despite being a workaholic, her fashion sense doesn’t suffer. When it is time for work, she works. When the occasion demands class, she isn’t slack.  For some, she is the most fashionable governor’s wife.
