Babalolas’ remember matriarch 40 years after

The Babalola family of Osogbo has remembered their late matriarch and socialite, Mrs. Abigail Mobolaji Babalola, 40 years after his death.

Mrs. Babalola died on December 25, 1978. She was 38.

At the 40th remembrance service for the deceased in Osogbo, her son, Prince Lekan Babalola, said the his mother’s death was devastating on the family, but events in the last 40 years had proven the awesomeness of God in their life.

He thanked God for His grace upon his father, Prince David Oladejo Babalola, who singlehandedly raised him and his other siblings, particularly the last born, Mrs. Oluwakemi Fanawopo, who was just a year old when their mum died. Olalekan described him as a rare father.

Olalekan, who is the Coordinating Director, Osun State Local Government Service Commission, thanked God for keeping the children safe, as they continue to excel in their chosen careers and the quality increase the family has recorded. He prayed for the grace to continue to fill the gap their mother’s death created in the family.
