Bagudu injects additional N3bn into NG-CAREs

Kebbi State Governor, Senator Atiku Bagudu, has injected additional N3billion into the NG-Cares Intervention Scheme aimed at cushioning the economic effect of Covid-19 on trade and commercial ventures.

The Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, Cooperative and Tourism, Alhaji Ibrahim Garba Geza, gave this indication in Birnin Kebbi  at the opening of a one-day sensitisation workshop on roles and responsibilities of local government leads and gender officers, Kebbi-Cares, Result Area 3 (MSE) for operational grants organised by the Delivery Platform (SME) Unit, of the Ministry of Commerce.

The commissioner explained that the workshop covered entire Kebbi State to sensitise officers of Area 3, SME who would implement the action recovery and stimulus plan.

Alhaji Ibrahim Garba Geza added that the sensitised leads and gender officers would implement disbursement of operational grant funds to assisting business owners to cushion the devastating effect of Covid-19 on enterprises.

The commissioner expressed confidence on the ability of the officers to perform optimally and efficaciously according to their operational guidelines.

In a remark, the Head of Delivery Platform who is Director, Tourism in the Ministry of Commerce, Alhaji Danladi Aliyu Dabai, said the sensitisation workshop has been organised for leads and gender officers from all the twenty-one local government areas of Kebbi State under the NG-Cares intervention programme.

He said the programme has been designed to cushion the Covid-19 consequence which affected global economy including Nigeria.

Dabai made it clear that the intervention programme involved cash transfer, Fadama project, medium and small-scale enterprises, MSE, livelihood support and food security.

In her goodwill message, co-ordinator NG-Cares Kebbi State, Hajiya Ruqayya Muhammad Bawa, implored participants to be active and co-operative on the field to achieving the target objective of the intervention programme.
