NO fewer than 10 persons have been kidnapped in a community in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Hamisu Tangaran, a member of the local vigilance group, told the reporter that the bandits came in large numbers and started shooting rapidly, causing terrified residents to scamper into the bushes.
It was in the resulting commotion that the bandits whisked away 10 persons comprising six men and four women, Tangaran said.
When contacted by The Nation, police spokesman Muhammad Shehu said he was yet confirm the incident.
Banditry has resurfaced in the state.
