Bandits kill four in Benue

Four persons have been killed by bandits in Kera Community, Tongov district, Katsina-Ala Local Government Area in Benue State.

But, the Benue State Police spokesman, Kate Anene, a Deputy Superintendent (DSP), said she was yet to get the report from Katsina-Ala Divisional Police Officer.

Tongov is a community located in Benue Northeast and the area has been under attacks by armed gangs.

A community leader, Chief Dogoh Ape, told The Nation that the gunmen stormed Kera community and opened fire on anyone in sight.

Ape said four people were killed at the spot and many others sustained injuries.

He added that the community has been deserted as a result of the attacked by suspected wanted gang leader in the local government area.
