Senator Binta Garba, who has been representing Adamawa North in the Senate since 2015, has lost her bid to return to the National Assembly.
Another Adamawa woman politician, Aisha Dahiru (Binani), has won her Adamawa Central Senatorial District election.
Senator Garba of the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 63,219 votes against the 78,337 votes scored by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Mr Ishaku Cliff, who is the senator-elect for the district.
To win her election, Aisha Dahiru Binani, the All Progressive Congress (APC) senator-elect for Adamawa Central, polled 188,526 votes to defeat Murtala Chubado Modibbo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who got 96,530 votes.

The results announced in Yola, the state capital by the Returning Officer, Prof. Baba Bukar Jakusko, showed the margin of successes among the candidates.
The result for Adamawa South had not been obtained last night.
Also, Prof Mamman Ardo of the MAUTECH, Yola, who was the Returning Officer for the House of Representatives election, also announced Ja’afar Abubakar Magaji as winner for Mubi-North, Mubi South and Maiha Federal Constituency.
Magaji polled 73,117 votes to defeat Umar Babangida Maina of the PDP, who scored 31,677 votes in the House of Representatives election.
